CAS Conducts Outreach to Utah Producers

Custom Ag Solutions worked with the Utah Farm Bureau Federation (UFBF) to deliver risk management and crop insurance information to Utah farmers and ranchers attending the 2020 FUSION Conference held in St. George on January 30-31, 2020. CAS’ John Mangus delivered two presentations during the event.

First, Mangus informed cattle producers about cattle market issues and available risk management tools, including specific Federal crop insurance programs such as RMA’s Livestock Risk Protection (LRP), Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF) and Whole Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP) programs. Mangus also encouraged producers to visit BeefBasis.com to obtain a range of marketing decision support tools.

Next, Mangus delivered a lunch presentation to remind participants of Federal crop insurance programs available to Utah producers. The presentation included a simulation exercise wherein participants made a series of operation and marketing decisions on a simulated Utah farm.
