CAS Begins Work in RMA’s Billings Region

December 18, 2018

Custom Ag Solutions recently kicked off its 2018-2020 partnership with the USDA’s Risk Management Agency and to provide risk management training and crop insurance education to producers in Montana and South Dakota.

CAS’ Brett Crosby attended the annual growers’ meetings for both the Montana Stockgrowers’ and the South Dakota Cattlemen’s, in their respective states. Additionally, CAS worked with the Montana State University – Hill County Extension to deliver training to extension agents attending meetings in Bozeman and to livestock producers attending the North Central Montana Stockgrowers’ Association Annual meeting. Workshops were designed to inform producers and industry personnel about cattle market issues and available risk management tools, including specific Federal crop insurance programs such as RMA’s Livestock Risk Protection (LRP), Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF) and Whole Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP) programs. Presenters also encouraged producers to visit BeefBasis.com to obtain a range of marketing decision support tools.

CAS appreciates the cooperation and contributions of the Montana State University—Hill County Extension, the Montana Stockgrowers’ Association, and the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association for their efforts to ensure the success of these events.
