CAS Delivers Training to Southern Livestock Producers

Working with the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Extension (UF/IFAS Extension), Custom Ag Solutions (CAS) facilitated the delivery of crop insurance and risk management information to livestock producers attending various events across Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Events included the Florida Cattlemen’s Annual Convention, the Southern Outlook Conference, Sunbelt Ag Exposition, Alfalfa Tri-State Conference, University of Florida’s Spring Ranchers Forum, and Escambia County Beef Cattle and Forage Bootcamp. Additionally, crop insurance and risk management training was delivered at several UF/IFAS Extension events.

UF/IFAS’s Christopher Prevatt and CAS’ Brett Crosby worked together to create curriculum covered during the presentations. The objective of the training was to inform producers of the availability of risk management tools and strategies available to livestock growers and to educate producers about many Federal crop insurance programs, including the Livestock Risk Protection (LRP), Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF) and Whole Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP) programs.

CAS enjoyed the opportunity to partner with UF/IFAS Extension and appreciates its efforts in delivering risk management information for the benefit of Southern livestock producers.
