CAS Begins Work on USDA/SBIR Phase I Project
July 2, 2019Custom Ag Solutions is pleased to begin work on a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I Grant to explore how a cattle marketing portal (CMP) can provide new marketing strategies to improve the profitability and sustainability of small and mid-size cattle producers across the U.S. The grant is administered by the USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA).
CAS will be led in the effort by its president, Brett Crosby, who will serve as the Project Director. Crosby is a recognized cattle marketing expert who manages his own large Wyoming cattle operation. Crosby will be assisted by John Mangus, Kole Swanser, and several university-based researchers. Two leading cattle producer organizations, the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association and National Livestock of Oklahoma, will assist CAS in coordinating focus groups to obtain producer feedback on a prototype CMP that will be developed under the effort.
